LivingWaxMuseumAssignment2020

Spooky (not scary) Halloween Mystery Stories

Beginning this Thursday (October 10), we will be writing Spooky (not scary) Halloween Mystery Stories. We will dedicate many of our literacy periods to working through the writing process (prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, publishing) a mystery narrative with a Halloween theme. The assignment is attached below with success criteria, rubric, vocabulary list and graphic organizer. There is also an assignment timeline to help students stay on track throughout this process. Students will be introduced to the assignment this Thursday, and handed a paper copy of the assignment. It will also be posted on Google Classroom. Students are welcome to type on the graphic organizer using Google Read and Write, if this is easier for them.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this fun, festive assignment!

After our fantastic trip to Camp Kandalore, we will incorporate all of our wonderful memories into a Camp Kandalore recount writing activity. In class, over the next few days we will go over the important components of a recount. Students will then write a recount of their experience at Camp Kandalore. The assignment is attached below. It is also in the Google Classroom and students will receive a paper copy today. The recount is due on Monday, October 7.
